among steaming geysers, sulfur pools, and vivid mineral deposits — a true natural wonder.
After lunch, travel through Afar villages and desert landscapes to reach the base of Erta Ale
Volcano. As the sun sets, begin your gentle 1–2 hour hike to the crater rim.Spend the night camping at the top, near the glowing lava lake — an unforgettable highlight of the Danakil.

Wake before dawn for a close-up view of Erta Ale’s lava lake, one of only five permanent lava
lakes in the world. Feel the heat and watch the molten lava swirl beneath your feet.

Semera for your return flight to Addis Ababa (ET 110, 5:15 PM).
